The Avoca Fire Department has on file with Luzerne County 911 several different response guidelines for specific incidents that occur in Avoca borough.  The AFD has designed the response assignments to bring adequate resources for all first alarm assignments, and utilizes the second alarm to cover all communities committed to a working incident.  The use of these assignments allows the incident commander to quickly and easily relocate companies around, as well as request additional resources to the scene.

For many of the run cards listed, even though the incidents may not be threatening life or property, such as a small brush fire, a second alarm assignment is listed on the run card.  The run cards are designed in this manner to assist 911 dispatchers to send the appropriate companies in the event the Avoca companies are out of service or otherwise unavailable to respond. IE: Avoca units are committed on an incident elsewhere.
