FIRE POLICE / TRAFFIC CONTROL RUN CARD:
When the need arises to control traffic situations or assist the police department with other activities, this run card specifies which units are to be dispatched to the incident. To give an example, the fire police may be activated to assist Avoca Police with traffic control when there is an active incident on Interstate 81 and the borough receives the detoured traffic.
Fire Police also assist the Fire Department at most incidents, ensuring a safe, controlled area for emergency workers to complete their duties.
