The Avoca Fire Department conducts weekly in-house training sessions.  The training sessions are held every Thursday evening starting at 6:30pm.

2002 Training Events

Emergency Response To Terrorism - Basic Concepts:

The Avoca Ambulance Association will be sponsoring a 16 hour Emergency Response to Terrorism Basic Concepts class. The class will be held on the following dates:

  • Sunday, February 3rd.   8am to 4:30pm

  • Thursday, February 7th  6:30pm to 10:30pm

  • Wednesday, February 13th  6:30pm to 10:30pm

All classes will be held at the Avoca Emergency Services Building.  Pre-registration is required.

Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVO):

An Emergency Vehicle Operations class will be held at the Avoca Emergency Services building on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, March 13th.  6:30pm to 10:30pm

  • Wednesday, March 20th.  6:30pm to 10:30pm

  • Saturday, March 23rd.  8am to 4:30pm

Special Fuel and Problem Fires:

The Avoca Fire Department will be conducting a Special Fuel and Problem Fires class on the following dates:

  • Thursday, April 4th.  6:30pm to 10:30pm

  • Thursday, April 11th.  6:30pm to 10:30pm

  • Saturday, April 20th.  8am to 4:30pm 

All classes will be held at the Avoca Emergency Services building except for April 20th.  This class will be held at the Harwood training facility in Hazleton.
