Technical Rescue Team

Requirements for participation on the Technical Rescue Team:

 

All members must have a minimum of:

A) C.P.R. and Standard First Aid

B) Hazard Materials Operations (24 hrs)

C) Incident Command class (several versions accepted)

D) Awareness level in one of the specialties. (Rope, Confined Space, Trench or Collapse)

 

There are three levels of training for each specialty that the team applies to an individual rescuer; Awareness, Operations and Technician.

The levels and minimum specialty training are listed below.

Rope

A: Basic Rigging for Rope (16 hrs)

O: Rope I (16 hrs)

T: Rope II (16 hrs) or Dept. of Health Basic Rescue Practices

Confined Space

A: Confined Space Awareness (2 hrs)

O: Confined Space Rescue (16 hrs)

T: Confined Space Rescue (16 hrs.) and participation in a C.S. drill

Trench

A: Trench Awareness (2 hrs) Not currently available

O: Trench I (16 hrs)

T: Trench II (16 hrs)

Structural Collapse

A: Collapse I (3.5 hrs)

O: Collapse II (15.75 hrs)

T: Not currently available
